Tom, you know how the other gods did a big patch job to integrate the old chaos god's dreamworld into their world? Well, they had to create and recreate a number of things to make the history fit together, one of which was you from before you choked down that artifact and became the lovable soul-devouring tentacle creature we adore. However, what they didn't recreate was the artifact you gobbled in the dreamworld, so their version of Duke has spent all his days as a lackey under the thumb of Lokirm. Though, I donno why the gods didn't create a faux Minci to go with their faux Duke, and instead got this Flora gal.

>Though, I donno why the gods didn't create a faux Minci to go with their faux Duke, and instead got this Flora gal.
That's easy enough to figure out.
Flora and Minci are both demons, which are not your ordinary beings at all, and so could not be 'cloned' over exactly.
Instead, they grabbed another succubus very, very similar to Minci, who happened to be named Flora.

As for how there is still a Duke around is a little less simple. In this new timeline the Duke we have encountered is a construct powered by a different soul, yet overwritten to still be the original Duke/Tom for all intents and purposes, physically, mentally, and temporally.

the sticky secretion from their tail and feet isn't always being pumped out at all times, they can control it. It does cause a build up of debris in their little wigglers that line the appendages, and maintenance of that is important. If something it organic and gets stuck up in there long enough, it may be dissolved and consumed, as they can still eat through their feet/ tail like they did as babies, though they don't gain as much from it as they do from eating normally.

>>361689
Somewhere in one of the Inside the Quest threads, someone asked Tav about that. When he shows up in the comic (if it ever actually gets beyond page 2) he's going to have an experimental prosthetic. There's a concept design for it in the ITQ thread somewhere.

It'd be easier to lace Lorkhe absorb-able organic dust with powerful poison, then spread it around in their path. The dust gets stuck in the wrigglers, consumed, and kills the Lorkhe or makes it ill.

Not everyone can think of everything all the time. Most things only appear obvious in hindsight.
This is exactly why the characters depend on your suggestions. So make them.

Now focus on dealing with the situation at hand, and let it be a lesson for next time.

Some things are obvious to everyone who has a brain... the problem with tg is that many posters don't.

Ok, so someone asked me to make like a little chart with the crests and features of the five Ziraneé Houses, I thought it was a good idea and that more people would like to see it, even if just out of curiosity, so here it is.

About differences in behavior and politics: They’re actually not really dependant on the House they belong to, but their Queen. Most Ziraneés are so loyal to their current queens that they’ll adapt to her way of thinking, points of views and politics. They’ll rarely openly question her, only in extreme cases. So, for example, during the reign of Lyra V’Azhue, most Azhue citizens followed her example, being pragmatic, resourceful and determined. For the same reason, right now the Yrian house is the most open to trades with other species and civilizations, they also tend to be more tolerant and hedonistic.

Well people probably heard the news by now...

I am in the process of developing the NEW Poker game. Here's a quick ran down of things:

- Did you get paid to do it?

Yes. I got paid. I'm sacrificing my real work time for this, so I felt some financial recompensation will be needed.

- Will it allow me to use old pokergame .dlls?

Yes, I'm working day and night to make sure the .dll integration will work. The old 16-bit .dll format is simple enough to extract resources from, there are few problems with it I'm trying to iron out on paper before I can start implementing that.

- Will it support * version of poker

The game will only support Texas Holdem rules. A new version might support more of them.

Well my university was KIND ENOUGH to provide me with a legal copy of Delphi XE2 so I can continue the development.

Okay - I'm coding string management right now and so:

There will be now 4 strings for 'actions' like taking cards, raising bets etc. instead of just one. That is to add some randomization to the dialogue! Right now I'm working on integrating this into the UI.

Next comes the image handling.

The good thing about this code is that I can later re-use it for the game.
>>
No. 52016 ID: 6dddd5
>>361815

Also new feature:

There will be 4 strings for "Good hand" and "Bad hand" to simulate the character 'losing his/her pokerface'. "Drat", "Damn" etc. might be a hint they drew a bad hand, or just they're deciving you!

The whole thing is controlled of course by AI sliders. So one can make a character that is cold and silent like Clint Eastwood or a character that will comment on his/her every hand like a naive child. In other words: FLAVOUR!

I fucking hate those things. Really. Fucking. HATE. Even when they're done properly (black-on-coloured-field, edges well overlapping, very thick coverage) they look awful. When they're done like most artists do it, a few separate black circles on solid colour, it looks unimaginably shit. I actually feel physically ill looking at them. Yeah guess what hasn't changed in months!

So here's the update, I couldn't bring myself to put Hatch on hiatus and tried to barrel through it to the end. That was super successful! no wait, the other thing.

Still toying with those two quest ideas, I have some concept art for the space magic quest done but it's all in my sketchbook and I have no scanner, and this is some concept art for the astranian one.

I actually want to do this one more than the space magic one I think, but I'm not sure. I suppose I could do both. Since I'll probably actually be, you know, inspired to do these unlike hatch it'll probably update a lot faster anyways, plus I'll be out of school soon.

And to be fair, the people who voted against the astranian quest idea strictly because they're astranians just makes me want to do the quest way more somehow, like a +2 towards the astranian quest rather than a +1 to the space magic quest. Not that the votes really matter anyways, I just wanted to see what people thought.

Oh, these two are Mikeron and Jodith Bael. Mikeron is the counselor-elect of the arid world, Jalmas, one of the three leaders of the planet along side the counselor-elder and counselor-noble, and Jodith is his first lady, so to speak. You can ask them questions in ITQ if you want.

For the space magic protagonist I have been indecisive as hell regarding his coloration and his name, all I know is he is going to be bee-themed and his girlfriend (Who I'm pretty sure is going to be named Dixie) is going to be bird themed and I have a bit more down for.

I think it's time to get to know some of the quest cast better! This is an exercise that can help you get a bead on both their appearance and their personality, and in so doing, help train your ability to reliably draw a given character. What better approach could there be? I posit there is none.

Remember, just the faces!

Honestly, the only nits I can pick is that the Weaver one has lines which are too thick and vary in thickness too much, and the Slowpoke is a bit too blended and clean, because he mostly seems to use one level of shade and lots of big 'sloppy' flats. That's pretty much it. Two nitpicks in 36 cells.

L. S. World will now answer any questions you may have regarding: Crashquest, LW fanarts, this incident, future projects, or anything else

Eh, I'd say it's kind of hard to really know your own moral stance, considering that the average, everyday chump rarely gets to actually deal with a moral quandary from the position of power. Add to that the fact that most of us are living in areas of the world where certain morals are pretty much enforced for the well being of everyone or whatever. Basically I'm saying the only way you can tell how good or bad you are is by what you did that one time you played Sims. You built four tiny walls around the guy and watched him pee himself to death, didn't you, you monster.

So there's this ancient, crappy Windows-based Strip Poker game from 1994 that only lets you play one on one and has numerous other stupid limitations. Why do I bring this up then?

Because you can make your own challengers!
It takes a bit of work and some outside compiling but it's pretty simple in terms of materials.

SO HERE IS THE PLAN: Make campy, dated strip poker entries for various Quest characters! This is fantastic and cannot possibly go wrong.

DISCLAIMER: Since this is basically just a means of winning a bunch of sequential images you don't have to make it about stripping. You could make it about someone playing in a big sunny field. You could replace losing articles of clothing with hardcore sex acts. Hell you could make a linear adventure with on-image word bubbles in which you progress by winning poker hands and eventually reveal the mysterious endgame!

GET THE PACKAGE HERE
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OXL71FS4
Included please find:

The Strip Poker "shell" EXE which you load up characters with. Character files are in DLL form. One really low-quality "test" DLL has been included, for Nan. This was done in about ten minutes SO DON'T JUDGE ME MANNN.
You'll also find a third item, a folder with instructions on how to make your own character DLL!

whatever. Call me a dog-molester if it makes you feel any better. I wanted to update the wiki page because the alternative is to read an entire thread that started over three years ago. I feel the strip-poker project (old or new) could use more love, and I wanted to lower the barrier to entry.

Must we use uploadmirrors.com as the download link? The first download site it offers wants me to install their custom "one-shot" software to download the file (trojan? I don't dare try it), and of the remaining 12 sites, only 2Shared and Rapidshare are not "file not found" errors.

>I wanted to update the wiki page because the alternative is to read an entire thread that started over three years ago.
Ideally you should have done the latter to achieve the former.

>I wanted to lower the barrier to entry.
The barrier to entry is people actually drawing frames. Show up with a bunch of pictures and text ready to go and see volunteers fall over each-other to package it up. (It's at least two, which is an order of magnitude above the capacity needed.)

>Must we use uploadmirrors.com as the download link?
No, what we "must" do is use one that's actually current. If you want to get your dodgy strip poker off of some other dodgy site suggest it to whoever next bundles it up.

Hi.

I want to give a brief apology here for the low quality of my posts - at the moment, I am pretty much working with a 6"x4" notepad, a mechanical pencil, and a cell phone camera. Despite that, I feel like the quality has improved a bit since I started, both in drawing skill and learning to use the camera better.

There probably could be something said here about perserverence in the face of frustrating odds, but I won't say it.

Alright guys, lets not turn this discussion thread into Quest Etiquette 101.

Personally, I always find it nice to know who is suggesting something. 'Suggestion' leaves something to be desired as a name.

And I can always tell when Ten has commented because only his name is ever a bright blue hyperlink. Plus his suggestions are so easy to misinterpret for laughs,
like in the update I just made.

That aside, I really am having fun doing this quest, now that Gants is not the only speaking character. Drawing that northern sergal's mane is a hassle though.

Don't worry, I really like your art style. I loved that picture of Gants wearing boots, that was funny! ^.V.^
