Justin.tv or Twitch.tv (They are the same site with different layouts) is the current best site for streaming, and XSplit is the current best software to use for streaming regardless of site.
The image posted has pretty solid settings regardless of what you're streaming. A less obvious thing about XSplit to know is that sources still take up resources even if they're not displaying, you have to actually remove them to make them stop using resources.

Let's Tolerate FF13-2 may continue tonight after Seal does questing, nothing is set in stone yet. Bastion racing is basically on hiatus for now.

Since some people have been having issues with this, if you get this error when trying to use Twitch/Justin with XSplit make sure your account is validated and try putting your username in all lowercase in the XSplit settings.

Recording of the dogguhijacku stream featuring sleep deprivation and Slinkoboy. Bite passed out during his stream so I called Slinkoboy in order to make That Quest Podcast episodes 2-8. Slinkoboy draws erotic things until BiteQuest eventually comes back, and then it is just audio.

Recently I've been streaming myself playing every NES game. Most games aren't played to completion, but I have beaten a couple and gotten decently far in some. Commentary usually has at least LawyerDog and Lagotrope, and also has had BiteQuest, MrQ, ClockworkSeal, Dylan, Toastline, Slinkoboy, BeakieHelmet, Cirr, EarthwormJim, Flynx, and Northan.

It started with "racing" "Zelda II" against Lagotrope, and then I started playing random NES games like Megaman 2/3 for the first time, and then eventually it become playing every single NES game in alphabetical order. "Every NES game" also includes a handful of unlicensed games, such as: Chinese bootlegs, SNES demakes, indie games, bible games, and "translated" Japanese-only games.

For the people that run streams: XSplit's free version is no longer a good option, due to only allowing Speex for audio now. The easy option is to use Livestream Procaster, and you can use custom bitrate settings to make the audio better in Procaster now so it's a somewhat better option than it used to be.
If you want to use something other than Livestream and don't want to buy XSplit it gets more complicated and you have to use some software that is even shittier than Procaster. You can use Flash Media Live Encoder with SCFH DSF for the video device (and possibly Virtual Audio Cable or something similar for the audio if you need to) and then put in the RTMP of whatever site you want to stream to.
