It's been pretty quiet in the few days since the dwarves attacked our home. I've stuck around since everyone seemed to want me to train a bit more, but I think I'm getting as good as I can at such a rate.

Oh, I'm still improving at everything, but it's not happening at such a huge rate. I don't think my skills at healing and marksmanship will get much better without spending a whole lot of time.

Shabin is also hitting a cap, I think. I've been letting her borrow the souls as well, too, and it has shown. It really does seem to help us with our abilities even when we don't have the souls, but they always do give us an extra burst when available.

And now, I'm going to get prepared to leave for awhile. But the question is, where should I be going, and with who?

I'm closest to Shabin, but I don't think she's ever been outside before. Fraga is also a nice person. Kradis I don't know very well, but he's the best person I know at travelling outdoors.

Speaking of Kradis, I got a little map from him.

So as for places, well...
A) There's my very first couple of homes, I'm pretty sure they're close to each other. I wouldn't really know what to find there, but there could be a hint.
B)The dragon, Voxol. He might know something about me, since he suddenly kicked me out calling me, uh.. names. I'm not sure.
C) The closest human town. I bet they would have more knowledge about the world and everything, but it may also be the most dangerous. Well, except for maybe Voxol. It also is the farthest walk, maybe 2 or 3 days or so. It's not like I'm in a hurry, though.

If you think I should go somewhere else though, then just say where! But until then, I think I'm going to spend some time getting ready.

Chee, I'd say head out to the human town first- the farthest place away- and stop by all the other locations on the way back, visiting Voxol last. That way you can find all sorts of information and ideas for forming questions... as well as get good practice with your magic before confronting someone that could be really dangerous. He might be your only current contact outside of your current home, so you'd want to be well prepared for that meeting!

The dragon it is!

Also, I seem to be having trouble passing souls to people I don't know very well, Chop included. So, the list is Fraga, Shabin... uh, I actually haven't tried with Kradis.

And yes, I completely forgot to mention. I've gotten basic Invisibility and Strength spells. The strength I can only hold for about half a minute, and can't cast any other spells. Invisibility is pretty solid, but Fraga warned me there is such a thing as anti-invisibility wards, or see invisibility potions, or things like that. Also, I can't cast any other spells with this on either, as well as doing anything complicated. It really is difficult just to keep it on! I can also cast a pretty mean fireball.

Shabin can almost beat Chop, with strength and souls.

I should only bring one other so we don't have too few to hold the cave, so I'm bringing Shabin. I wonder how she'll like the outdoo...

Well, I'll ask later.

I doubt I can kill them, and I certainly don't want to! Also, I don't know what contact lenses are.

I'll leave Shabin up at the ridge, and invisi my way down. No one speaks for a awhile, until what I think is a girl walks up to an armored person.

>"You're SURE about this?"

>"We just had this conversation, woman! Every night, right at sundown, that dragon flies off behind the mountain away from us for at least an hour. We just walk in, quickly grab what's comfortable, and leave."

>"If you're not sure, we're all dead."

>"Don't get cold feet, now. We just run in, grab a handful each and get out, we won't spend anywhere near the full hour."

Oh, they're after his hoard. Um.. he never leaves his cave. I think these people will die if they try this, they don't look strong enough to fight him. It looks like there's only a dozen people in this camp, but I can't be sure.

I am pretty sure these humans will be less friendly to you than the dragon will be, even if you are trying to help them. They don't look powerful. You could probably kill them all without Shabin's aid. The dragon may be thankful for this, they will die either way if the dragon sees them. You could still try helping the humans but don't expect anything that is not a hostile reaction.

I am inclined to warn them- but make sure not to do it in a fashion that would let them outnumber you! That girl seems uncertain about this in general; you might follow her until she's alone somewhere, then drop your invisibility and tell her this is a bad idea, the dragon doesn't actually leave its cave and utterly loathes thieves (in the "hunt down and kill their villages" sense). Also give your name and get hers, find out why they're silly enough to even think to try this. Then go invisible again and leave before the humans can do something rash and hurt you.

After you've done that, it's the humans' own fault if they're stupid enough to get killed. Give them a couple hours to clear out and go see the dragon, at which point you can tell him about any humans that are left and get full credit for warning him about thieves.

"he is just following orders. the only one here that may REALLY need to be killed is their boss. and only if we can't incapacitate him"

It was just a misunderstanding, there are a lot of kobolds who DO attack people randomly. Plus, and this might convince her more, if we kill one of them then they'll all come after us.

Their boss just wants to play dwarf. Getting the other human to realize that TALKING (AND NOT KILLING) is going on is best. T.A.N.K makes the world go 'round.

"So often are us kobolds killed because people consider us monsters. And you tried to kill me after I went and warned you. Now, who does that make the monster?"

Also, tell the human male to lay his weapons on the ground and step away from them.

He didn't try to kill us, he just said he wanted to.

Knock him out. We will leave peacefully, since we're the ones that came across them. It's not like they were hunting us down or anything.

At this point I think they would agree that we're not worth the trouble to kill. Also explain to the woman (after the guy's knocked out) that you were traveling here only to ask the dragon about a magical problem you have. Since the area's occupied we'll just come back later after they've either left or gotten eaten.

"No, Shabin, he only said he wanted to. Saying isn't doing. Please let him go; they have been very polite so far and I want to talk to them."
